WHO WE ARE
The Japan America Society of Greater Cincinnati (JASGC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization created to promote a better understanding and cultural awareness between the people of Japan and the people of the Cincinnati Region.
The JASGC strives to foster new business, political and cultural connections between the citizens, companies and governments of Japan and Greater Cincinnati, leading to a more productive, stabile and enriched relationship between our to countries.
The Society is dedicated to: SERVING our local community by enhancing relationships Japan and Cincinnati, thereby creating mutual respect and trust COLLABORATING with other internationally focused organizations through business, cultural and educational programs which increase the awareness and importance of Cincinnati's relationship with Japan and the world EDUCATING future generations of Japanese and American leaders WHAT WE DO
The JASGC offers a wide variety of business, cultural and educational oriented programming to individuals and companies throughout Greater Cincinnati. This diverse portfolio of events enables the Society to enrich personal and professional lives of our members and the community at large.
Some of our more popular events include:
Sake Tasting - an annual Spring event attracting several hundred participants to enjoy some informal networking and of course, Japan's most famous beverage.
Golf Outing - a JASGC Summer favorite and perennial sellout. While members compete for the best score, the real winner may be the Japanese Saturday School, which receives a portion of the event's proceeds.
Bonenkai - The Society wraps up its schedule of events with this traditional Japanese end of year party. Attendees cast off any bad luck from the year ending and looking forward to an even better upcoming year.
